Be Inspired, Live Whole

Dear Spiritual Sister,

When I decided on the slogan for my business, I wanted to be intentional about how it resonated with other women. As I reflected on my life, I thought about my spiritual condition and how it has evolved over the years until now. God gave me words that would help me convey what was in my heart: inspiration, wholeness, and harmony. Therefore, I decided on the slogan Be Inspired, Live Whole.

Past experiences, including victories and predicaments, push purpose! To me, women who walk in the purpose of God are inspired to grow and do something different! In the flesh, we would never be compelled to do the things God has placed in our hearts. Even though God has told us to make faith steps, we find reasons to prevent our growth. In the spirit, however, there is no fear when the Lord is your life! What God has for you is only for you. The assignment is yours. Simply say, “Yes, Lord.”

Of course, you may have other concerns such as the opposition you will face, time management, finances, the knowledge you need to gain, and how to access beneficial resources to help you step into this calling. Still, why should this hold you back if you believe in an all-powerful, all-knowing God? We make excuses and procrastinate for various reasons. I have highlighted a few that I have used as well as others. Additionally, I offered an alternative perspective, a Godly perspective. Look at the examples below:

  • Instead of saying, “Who am I to do such a task?,” say “God has created me for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).
  • Instead of “Am I worthy of such a calling?,” say “I must walk in a manner worthy of the calling God gave me” (Ephesians 4:1).
  • Instead of “I need to take care of a few other things before I get started,” say “I need to ask God what step I should take to get started” (Psalm 37:23).
  • Instead of “I already have too many things on my plate,” say “I need to ask God how to manage my time and if I need to let go of some things that are not serving God’s purpose in my current season (John 15:2).
  • Instead of “When the time comes, I will be ready,” say “I will consult God on timing, and if it is here, I will listen for his instruction” (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

I am a person who remains unsettled when I know I have untapped potential. I am not content with a “cap” in my life. God will continue to nudge and tug on me until I start praying and eventually act. I feel so much better when I take a faith step! I feel relieved, peaceful, and whole. I cannot help but feel that other women agree. In fact, I know they do! A lot of them are my other spiritual sisters who yearn for their next levels in God. The next level means shedding a lot of your old ways and viewing wholeness from a different lens.

Recall that the Devil wants us to stay on spiritual levels that will reduce the number of people entering God’s kingdom. We can do this intentionally by living a life of sin and influencing others to do the same. Also, we can inadvertently contribute by remaining idle and not exercising the spiritual gifts God gave us. God gave us a choice. What are you choosing?

When it comes to harmony in my life, God tells me my first ministry is my home. That is a non-negotiable. With that said, God also leaves a great example of a woman who harmoniously lives a purposeful life inside her home and in the community. This woman manages her home, takes care of her kids and husband, works with her hands, is a profitable businessperson, and serves the poor. Have you read about her in Proverbs 31:10-31? She cannot be a virtuous woman in her strength, but only by the guidance and grace of God can she step into her calling and do it well. You can do this well, too.

How is God trying to prune your mind and your behavior? What things do you need to relinquish? What knowledge of God do you need to gain to bear more fruit? With a little self-discipline and faith, God will do amazing things, using you as a vessel for his glory.

I leave you with a call to action. Your action step is to pray. Write a letter to God about your feelings and ask him for his daily bread. Be sure to ask him about your goals for the current day. Then, listen carefully and act. Focus only on the current day’s goals. On the next day, do the same thing. On the day after that, do this activity again. Continue this pattern each day. Eventually, your path will take form, and your assignment in this season will become clearer. Take it day by day. Until next time Be Inspired, Live Whole.
