Dear Spiritual Sister,
It is February, and love is in the air. Valentine’s Day is around the corner! Stores are filled with gifts for loved ones, young and old. As I have gotten older, I spend less time trying to gather gifts and more time thinking about how I can take in the moment of doing something I love and being with my family. My daughter, with her old soul, has also picked up on this habit. She gets it honestly.
My daughter loves art, and Valentine’s Day art supplies are easy to find. We love going to a local Five Below store to stock up. We have found that Five Below stores have great art kits at low prices, which helps this momma in an economy with rising costs. Once we find the Valentine’s Day art kit that fits my mini-me’s taste and style, she’s satisfied. Her heart is full because she can engage in something she loves, art. She will also be able to showcase her masterpiece to her favorite crowd, her family. I live for moments like this. For me, the little things in life are actually the greatest things about life.
While it is a miracle to be loved, feel loved, and show love during Valentine’s Day, why not feel that way all the time? A great poet Alfred Tennyson wrote, “Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all.” We may be without some of our loved ones this Valentine’s Day. However, there is so much more love that people need in this world.
When Jesus died on the cross, he showcased the greatest act of love. We are redeemed and simply loved by God. Through your faith and action, let God heal you, heal the people you love, and heal strangers you have yet to encounter through His great love. Be a light by sharing the light of the world. Jesus, God in the flesh, wants us to love him and people. The result of faith and spreading the gospel can truly heal the world. Now, wouldn’t that be a great love story? A story of healing, grace, and people walking in favor?
